The Keats Foundation will be delighted to welcome you for a convivial evening of poetry readings, wine and a chance to view William Holman Hunt’s painting from Keats’s The Eve of St Agnes at the Guildhall Gallery on Thursday,19 January 2017 from 6.15 – 7.30 pm,to celebrate St Agnes’s eve and Keats’s poem.

DESCRIPTION

St. Agnes’ Eve—Ah, bitter chill it was!

The owl, for all his feathers, was a-cold;

Celebrate John Keats’s famous poem The Eve of St Agnes at Guildhall Art Gallery. Enjoy a private view of the painting by William Holman Hunt that Keats’s tale inspired, and listen to extracts of the poem read by leading poets, with an introduction by Keats biographer Nicholas Roe.

A Keats Foundation event in association with Keats House and The Poetry Society

Tonight’s event takes place on the eve of the eve of St Agnes.
